HOMECOMING SUNDAY!
We hope you will join this Sunday, September 27th as we celebrate 177 years of South Newington Baptist Church’s Ministry. Please come back in the evening for observance of the Lord’s Supper.

Pastor Appreciation Month
October is Pastor Appreciation Month. We will be celebrating our pastors and their families on Sunday evening, October 4th, during the evening worship service. We will not have a social this year but have planned for Bro. Marty Youngblood from GBMB to come and speak during the service. A table will be  on the front porch of the sanctuary just in case anyone wants to leave a card or gift for our pastors.

Let us all remember to keep them and their families in our prayers – this year has been a tough one in ministry.

OTHER NEWS & OPPORTUNITIES
Care Team Volunteers
We are in need of Care Team volunteers. This is our team who greets visitors who attend the services at our church. Volunteers follow up with visitors and give out visitor gifts during the services.

Please give Buddy Wommack (912-429-8185) or his wife Tewanna (912-677-6619) a call if you would like to be a part of the team, or if you have any further questions.

Hospitality Team
We are in need of a hospitality team. This team would be responsible for
preparing, setup and cleanup of certain events at the church, i.e. wedding and baby showers, Pastor Appreciation Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, and the annual teachers and staff breakfast for New Hampstead High School.

We already have guidelines in place for most of these events. Sister Kim Cannon will do the purchasing for whatever is needed.  The team would only need to coordinate setup, activities, and cleanup. We need a member to be the
chairperson, who will be the main one to keep in touch with Sister Kim on
what is needed and when a event will take place. We will need volunteers
to help the chairperson during the events.

Please call, email, or stop by the office if you are called by God to serve on this team.

Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child
Next week we are kicking off our Shoebox Ministry with Samaritan’s Purse. We will have more information to come. Thank you for those who have already donated toward this fund.

If God is leading you to continue to give towards a mission , we are collecting for the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox Ministry.
