Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of South Newington Baptist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. South Newington members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church vehicles, to preparing the church bulletins.

Mission Outreach

South Newington is honored to be a part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. Each year, a small team from our church travels to Honduras to assist our missionaries in practical projects and evangelistic outreach. We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Women’s Ministry

The women of South Newington honor the Lord by serving at the Savannah Baptist Center, preparing meals for those who are sick or have been in the hospital, and celebrating special events such as wedding and baby showers.  The group meets monthly for fellowship and planning outreach projects.

Men’s Ministry

Providing strong, Godly leadership is paramount to the success of any church body.  The men of South Newington strive to meet this need by providing a place where men can grow spiritually.  They meet each Sunday morning at 8 a.m. for special prayer as well as monthly for fellowship and planning outreach projects.

Awana helps churches and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Our programs offer a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids in the church and community.

Each week, more than 1.5 million kids ages 2 to 18 participate in Awana. Over 12,000 churches in the U.S. and more than 10,000 internationally run Awana programs that change young lives through biblical truth.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, South Newington holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.
